The second
Rotterdam Turbine Challenge ended with a winning turbine running on air bearings.
The third Rotterdam Turbine Challenge (RTC16) will have the theme “OTEC.”
The Dutch
company Bluerise will be the context of the next turbine. Not only will the
turbine need to run as fast as possible but it also needs to be secure for use
with ammonia. During the challenge itself it will run on compressed air. The
best turbine will be tested in the Bluerise OTEC skid at TU Delft.
